Dr. David A. Oliphant

Dr. Oliphant was born and raised in Chatham-Kent and is the founder of the Complete Eye and Vision Care Centre. Dr. Oliphant is a graduate of the renowned University of Waterloo School of Optometry. Dr. Oliphant has published three papers on the subject of colour vision and is an authorized “Night Vision Tester” for police service applications.

Dr. Oliphant believes that treating and diagnosing his patients visual problems is his primary focus but takes great pride in the fact that he enjoys interacting with his patients on a much more personal level. “I enjoy taking the time to speak with each one of my patients. This includes not just their visual needs but perhaps a new development in their family life or work life. It is important for myself and my team at the centre to connect with our patients on a professional and personal level.”

Dr. Oliphant is a member in good standing of the College of Optometrists of Ontario, the Ontario Association of Optometrists, and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.  To learn more about these associations please feel free to visit our Links Page.

Mary

Mary

Mary is our Clinic Coordinator focusing on patient reception, scheduling and patient flow in our office. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo.

Her primary duties include reception and administration, insurance billing and bookkeeping as well as OCT imaging and Visual Field Testing.  Mary takes great pride in assisting our patients with frame selections based on the individuals desired style and function needs.

Mary believes in constantly improving her level of service and knowledge to assist patients in meeting their needs. Mary wears glasses for distance only. Acetate frames remain her revered staple for styles, and shapes. Mary lives in Chatham with her husband and daughter and a mini rat terrier named
“Squints”.

Dr. Marja Salminen O.D. B.Sc.

Dr. Marja Salminen O.D. B.Sc.

Dr. Salminen grew up in the small northern community of Whitefish, ON. She moved to London where she completed a Bachelor of Science – Double Major in Biological and Medical Sciences from the University of Western Ontario in 2013. She went on to earn a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo, graduating on the Dean’s Honour List in 2018.

During her training, Dr. Salminen gained clinical experience in the treatment and management of ocular diseases, including the use of ocular therapeutics, while on externships in Florida, Kitchener and right here in Chatham with Dr. Oliphant.

Outside work, Dr. Salminen enjoys the outdoors, reading adventure novels, playing piano and spending time with her family.

Lauren

Lauren

Lauren was born and raised in Chatham-Kent, and brings a love of people to the office. She has newly begun her optical career, but is excited about the fashion aspect of frames, and is passionate about helping people find the best solution for their optical needs.

Lauren graduated from the practical nursing program at st. Clair college, Chatham, and is a registered practical nurse in good standing with the college of nurses of Ontario.

As optical coordinator, her duties at the office include reception, office flow, and administration, as well as OCT imaging and visual field testing. In addition, Lauren enjoys the task of keeping the dispensary current with charming, but functional frames.

In her time away from the office, she is mother to an aspiring four-year old Olympic gymnast, and together they attend Crossfit classes.

Lauren is an occupational lens wearer for the purposes of being more comfortable at the computer and near tasks.

Megan

Megan

Megan is our patient care coordinator focusing on assisting Dr. Oliphant in examinations, OCT imaging/Visual field testing, and patient flow.

She was born in Halifax, NS and later moved to her parent’s home province of Newfoundland at the age of 12. Megan holds a diploma in Office Administration. She found her passion for working in the optical field when she was hired as an administrative assistant at an optometrist’s office in 2011. She believes in continuously improving her level of service and knowledge to assist patients.

Megan has astigmatism and wears monthly toric contact lenses the majority of the time. She does have quite a collection of glasses that she likes to break out once and a while. Megan moved to Ontario in 2014. She now considers Chatham-Kent her home. She lives out in the country with her partner and their fur babies. She enjoys nature/being outdoors, travelling and is a major foodie.
